Kaduna COE denies killing
of students by Fulani herdsman.
Authorities of the Kaduna State College of
Education Gidan Waya, Jema’a Local Council, have denied the alleged killing of
five students of the institution by Fulani herdsmen.Media reports recently had
it that five students of the school were killed close to Gidan Waya, when a
commercial car taking them to school from Kafanchan, was waylaid by
suspected armed herdsmen.
Sources had claimed that the five students were
shot dead while the driver of the commercial taxi was the only one whose life
was spared.The state’s police spokesman, ASP Usman Aliyu, had denied knowledge
of such killings, insisting that, “nothing like that happened.”
Reacting to the alleged killings, the school while reacting to the report in a rejoinder signed by its acting registrar, Samuel Tukurah, said the story was “totally false and unfounded.”

The statement, which added that the school does not
run any Department of Mass Communication, where one of the alleged victims was
said to be a student of, expressed surprise at the allegation, and called
members of the public to totally disregard such stories.
